Gova extends range with Dihydroxyacetone

Change Category:
Dihydroxyacetone

With autumn and winter ahead, we’ll have months with less sun and tanning possibilities. To keep your tanned skin of the summer, Gova has expended its range with the self-tanning active Dihydroxyacetone (DHA).

The self-tanning effect of DHA is due to the colouring of the upper layer of the epidermis.
DHA reacts with the amines, peptides and amino acids of the horny layer to generate brown melanoids.

Self-tanning is a skin-friendly and harmless reaction that doesn’t need sun exposure. It is very different from the melanogenesis generated by UV stimulation.

The colour change is visible within a few hours and lasts over 3 – 7 days. Repeated applications every 2 to 3 days maintain the intensity of the tan.

DHA is fully natural obtained by fermentation using renewable plant substrates.
